Need Smarter Techniques For Employee Recruitment In Busy Schedule

I am a HR Administrator in a non-profit organisation. The hardest part for me is the range of tasks that have to be completed and the diversity of all tasks.

On a daily basis I can be coordinating meetings from Health and Safety to more strategic based meetings; minute taking, from disciplinaries and grievances to meeting  with groups of charities, recruiting, answering ad-hoc queries, payroll, updating databases, generating reports, vetting candidates etc.

Because of this, i'm having no time to concentrate on employee recruitment.

Can anyone tell the smarter way to overcome it.

Time management and organisation are essential to managing any workload, but sometimes it is necessary to consciously improve working strategies to make sure you are getting the most out of your time and efforts.

Here are some key points to take into account for working smarter when faced with a demanding workload:

Prioritise tasks

Assess all of the tasks that you need to complete, prioritising them by which ones need to be addressed first and how much work will be involved. Try to keep all of your tasks listed in order of their importance and the timeframe in which they need to be completed.

Set yourself deadlines

Time management plays a big part in working smarter, and is one skill that appears on job descriptions and CV’s at almost every level.

Dividing projects and big tasks into manageable sections that you can then set yourself realistic deadlines for can be one of the most effective techniques for ensuring that you are managing your time effectively.

The deadlines you set yourself should be achievable and made with the overall project or task in mind.

Avoid multitasking

Try to focus your efforts on one task at a time. It is easy to become distracted by other tasks in your workload, but the best results will come from giving each task your full concentration, tackling them one at a time.

This will enable you to build momentum and get the most out of your work towards each specific task.

Organisation is key

Keeping organised may sound obvious, but it can easily be forgotten in a busy working environment.

Being organised should include everything from keeping a tidy desk to using your outlook calendar for meetings and using separate folders for emails. Organisation really is key to managing any busy workload.

Schedule all meetings, calls and emails.

When working with a demanding workload it is easy to become distracted by calls, meetings and emails throughout the day.

Organise your schedule around the meetings you have booked and the calls you need to make to keep track of when they are scheduled to take place.

During busy periods, schedule times in the day to catch up on your emails. This way you can avoid being distracted by new emails and can also avoid opening your inbox to a barrage of unread messages at the end of the day.
